Germany started with good tempo and it looked like Poland was sleeping in the beginning of game.
Franziska Kuhlmann scored the first goal of the match after 3 minutes. Second goal for Germany was own goal and Germany led already with two goals. At 16:02 Poland narrowed the lead with one goal. At the last minute of first period Lea Fischer shot her first goal in this Tournament. Goal was assisted by Kuhlmann nice pass in the front of the goal and Fischer had easy task to shoot the ball in the empty net, 3-1 for Germany.
The second period was equal but no more goals.
In third period Poland attached aggressive and tried to equalize the game. They narrowed the lead with one goal at time 49:45 but it wasn´t enough. Germany defended well and scored twice and won the game with numbers 5-2.
- I´m very happy, we did great job, it feels really good to play here again tomorrow, said Germany´s goalkeeper Indra Reck after the game. She had 31 saves in match.
- This game was really important for us. We had a little bit of luck with two first goals and third goal was really important for us, said coach Simon Brechbühler.
Germany will play for place 5th tomorrow. Do you still have power?
- I don´t know, Brechbüchler laughed.
