Switzerland won against Latvia in the Women´s World Championships quarter-final with 9-2. The game was settled in the first period, which Switzerland won 3-0.
- For the first fifteen minutes we were really focused. It was important to have a good start in the quarter-final, Switzerland head coach Sascha Brendler said.
- The first period was really good, then we lost a bit of focus and the rest wasn’t so good, he continued.
The Swiss team scored eight goal, but Corin Rüttimann showed the way with her assists to the first two goals and then she scored a couple of goals more.
- It’s very good, when the team is hungry and is good that we won this game. We started very well in the first period. Then our level dropped a little bit but in the third period we got up and played at a good level again, Rüttimann thought.
- We won and that was our main goal, Rüttimann finished.
