The young and fast team Japan played half of the game very good and they had the power to defend well. Then they got a little bit tired and USA took the lead.
In the first period the game was even. Both teams had a couple of scoring chances and one goal was scored in both ends. In second period Japan took the lead scored by Yui Goto but Japan couldn’t keep the lead when Adelia Pennisi scored twice and the game was 3-2 for USA.
In the third period USA crushed Japan and scored 7 goals. The finals result was 10-2.
- I think we worked hard, especially in the two last periods. They were very fast and energetic but we learned how to play against them. We got more power in second and third period, Adelia Pennisi told after the match.
- In the first period, I was very tired in my legs, but in the second and third I got power, said Pennisi.
The best line of the team USA was Michelle Linhart- Marie Häggsträm-Pennisi by scoring 8 out of the 10 goals.
- I really love to play with Marie and Michelle they are really good and it´s easy to play with them. They give good passes and really know how to work around, Pennisi smiled.
Japan´s player Yui Takahashi was very disappointed after the game.
- Very disappointed, we couldn´t play our own game. In the third period team USA played really fast and we got a little bit tired, she said.
The last game for both of the teams will be on Thursday. USA will play for 13thplace and Japan will play for 15th place.
