Japan started the goal scoring at 10:44 with a nice shot from the middle line by Yui Goto assisted by Midori Kubo. Japan had many chances to score more but goalkeeper of Singapore Sara Lim made great saves. Four seconds before intermission Japan´s forward Miku Kato scored the 2nd goal for Japan. The second period was played with no goals although both of the teams had good goal chances.
The third period was tight and exciting. Singapore scored twice in the beginning of the period scored by Laura Tan and Debbie Poh and game was draw 2-2. At 49:11 Singapore took the lead the first time in the match with a goal scored by Natalia Wee. Japan got a power play in the end of the game but didn´t score. The power play had just ended when Japan tied the game 3-3 with a goal scored by Miduri Kubo. At 59:15 Japan scored the winning goal, and again it was Kubo. Final result was 4-3 for Japan.
Two goal-scorer Miduro Kubo was very happy after the match.
- We lost against Denmark so we didn´t have afford to lose this game. Now when we won it we are really happy and relieved, Kubo said.
- We have been working very hard during last year and now when we are here and play here we are very happy, Kubo told.
Laura Tan shot the first goal for Singapore.
- It was really excited game. Japan is a country we wanna meet on court because they are really fast and it is always nice to play against them, Tan said.
She wasn´t really disappointed, because team did well.
- We were 2-0 down but came back to the draw 2-2. We have to admit that Japan is very fast team and it was challenging match. To us in this tournament this was another step for tomorrow when we play against Denmark. This was good preparation, said Tan.
Tan had enjoyed her time in Finland.
- Weather is different than in Singapore where we have always summer. So war if has been rainy and cold, but nice. The court is very good here and in the other hall.
