Latvia started sharp against Czech Republic: first attack and first goal after two minutes game. Czech equalized to 1-1 only four minutes later goal scored by Eliska Vratna. Tereza Urbanova shot Czech to lead in 7th minute but Latvia game back to the game scored by Diana Isjomina. In first period Czech took the lead again with two goals scored by Eliska Krupnova and Vratna.
In second period Czech show that team is physical and well-prepared for the tournament. Czech used the power play right in the beginning of the second period and nailed the match. In Second period Czech scored altogether five goals and in third period six. Best scorer was Eliska Vratka with her four goals.
Urbankova shot goals number 2 and 11 for Czech Republic.
- It´s good that we won. I think we were quite nervous in the beginning of the match, said Urbankova.
For this season she moved to Sweden and plays in KAIS Mora IK.
- I have now different role in National team. I´m one of the leader player and expected to score goals, Urbankova told.
She said that Team Czech Republic is very well prepared for the tournament.
- We have watched videos and we are ready for every opponent.
Diana Isjomina scored the one goal in the match. She also worked hard during the whole match.
- Now I´m a bit disappointed. But if we forget the result we had some good moments for example some good attacks. Almost half of the players have no experience in World Championships and it shows, said Isjomina.
- We have
one line which players are playing Sweden, Norway or Switzerland. Other players
are playing in Latvian League. We are not that experienced in tough matches,
said Isjomina who plays in Norway.
