Finland, Switzerland, Norway and Poland play in the WFC Group A. The two best teams will get the direct spot in the quarter-finals.
Host Finland (ranked second) has been in the final for the last two WFCs, but have had to settle for silver. Now their aim is to go all the way and win the WFC gold. Switzerland (ranked third) has won the Women’s WFC final in 2005 against Finland and they also played in the 2009 final.
Though Poland (ranked seventh) is below Norway (ranked fifth) in the rankings, when they played in September they were neck and neck. The two teams have had tight battles throughout the years.
