Eliisa Alanko is one of the Finnish national team players aiming for the World Floorball Championships 2015.
We met with Eliisa after Finland´s historical win over Sweden, during the FIN-SWE Challenge and had a short chat with her about the WFC preparations.

Do you think that the FIN-SWE Challenge matches will have an effect on the WFC?
- Yes and no. These games are basically teams trying new stuff. It’s practice. Aces are going to be shown in the WFC, but of course these games give teams confidence.
How have you prepared for the WFC?
- We have worked for the WFC for two years now. In the summer we had two camps. EFT is still coming. Then we are going to have the final camps and load up for the WFC. We have also focused on mental coaching, which has been great. For example Sweden has always been a stumbling block for us but now they weren’t.
Do you think that the roster will change much before the WFC?
- We now have 25 players so 5 players will leave the team. We have a healthy competition situation inside the team, which is working. Everyone is challenging themselves and working hard.
What kind of a team Finland will we see in Tampere?
- Active, bold and brave.
And last but not least, what is the main goal in December?
- Of course to win the World Championships!
For Eliisa, the WFC 2015 would be her 4th WFC. The final roster will be announced November 17th at the lates (IFF final list deadline, November 16th).
