Jeannette Good WFC 2015 Secretary General – 16.06.2014

Jeannette Good has been elected Secretary General of the Women´s World Floorball Championships played in Tampere, Finland, in December 2015.

Jeannette Good, 43, has a background in football. She has been working for the Finnish Football Federation since 1995 and been strongly involved in organising many international events.

In the Finnish Football Federation her current position is National Team Manager and she has also been acting as the FIFA and UEAFA advisor in International Football Championships.

One of the highlights of her career was being the head of the tournament at the 2004 U19 Women´s European Championships in football. At the 2012 London Olympics she was also the first woman ever to become the General Coordinator of the football tournament.

The reason to change from football to floorball is wanting to face new challenges.
- When I have worked for one sport for a long time, I wanted to search for new challenges within a new sport and with new people, she says in Finnish Floorball Federation´s interview.

As her strengths she sees the multiple tasks she has had in organising tournaments in Finland and abroad as well as working within different cultures.
- Floorball is an interesting sport. I want to bring new things to the WFC 2015 Event and challenge both myself and the people working around me. I want that not only women and girls get excited about the WFC 2015 and come and watch the Event. The WFC 2015 shall also bring other long-term effects after the Event, she states.

- The volunteers who actually make the event are also important. In addition I would like to have new partners involved with the WFC 2015 and floorball, the new Secretary General points out.

Jeannette Good is born in Switzerland and moved to Finland over 20 years ago. In addition to completing degrees in Sport she has studied marketing in both Finland and Switzerland. Jeanette Good speaks fluent German, Finnish and French.

Jeanette Good will start as the WFC 2015 Secretary General on September 1st 2014.
