The Hungarian Floorball Federation (HFF), led by a new President is aiming to make floorball more popular and to further develop the youth and adult national championships.

Mr. Gábor Füzi has been leading the HFF, with a new CB and Secretary General, since the elections in the end of April 2013.

Floorball a popular school sport

Floorball has become really popular in Hungarian schools and a big step forward has been taken with  the so called "Student Olympiad". Nowadays this 3 versus 3 championship between schools is the second most attended sport in Hungary.

More than 460 teams from around the country are participating in the school championships and only football is more popular. 

-  This is a huge success for us and a huge help to make the floorball more and more popular in Hungary, the new Secretary General Robert Gyula Jaczko said.

WFC 2013 & WFCQ 2014 preparation

The Hungarian women´s team is also preparing for the WFC 2013 played in Brno and Ostrava in December. Hungary is currently ranked 12th and will play in the WFC 2103 Group C with Australia, Slovakia and Korea.

The Hungarian Head Coach is Peter Huszti and last weekend the team had a training camp and a photoshoot. The team has been preparing together for a time now and is ready to face the WFC opponents as a close-knit team.

Also the men´s national team is about to start the preparation for the WFCQ 2014 played in Latvia and the men´s team also had a training camp last weekend lead by head coach and former national team player, Zoltán Bedő

World University Floorball Championships in Hungary?

One plan for the future for the HFF is to host the World University Flooball Championships.

- We hope to host that event in 2016. If we could be successful in all our other topics, we will be ready for such an event, Mr. Jaczko added.

Hungarian leagues

HFF is organising adult and youth championships and National Cups. In the men´s category there are three divisions, 26 teams and a National Cup. The women play in two divisions and in the National Cup. In addition to this HFF organises youth leagues for U9 to U15.
