Aurélie Boucher, involved in the development of women´s floorball in France and a player in the historic matches was interviewed by the French Flooball Assocciation. The 32 year old defender first discovered Floorball from comments made by a friend who was living in Finland. When she read in the local press, in 2008, that floorball had arrived in Amiens she was excited to try it.
On the 2nd & 3rd November 2013, the French Women´s National team played their first ever international matches. In two tight matches they were able to defeat Great Britain 3-2 and 4-3. The Great Britain women´s team was also making a long-awaited re-appearance on the international scene - the last time they competed was at the Women´s 2001 WFC in Latvia.
For Aurélie, it was a great honour to wear the French jersey. -I still find it hard to believe, but the first Marseillaise (the French national anthem) is unique and unforgettable! This is a real chance to experience this historical experience. It represents the entire French female floorball, she said.
Boucher is involved not only as a player, but she also has the responsibility on the French Floorball Board for it´s continued development. Regarding the future, she thinks that the development is on a good path. - There are still so many steps we need to go. The structure is solid but there is no time to relax because there is so much more to do and it is everyone´s business to promote and develop Floorball.
