Danish talent program takes its first steps – 27.08.2013

In the coming season, the Danish Floorball Union is launching a talent training program for boys aged 13 to 17 years. The talent training will be based on themes where players get the opportunity to acquire new knowledge about how they can be an even better floorball player.

The project will hold 7 gatherings in the period from August 2013 to May 2014 in which the players will be given the opportunity to get acquainted with some different aspects of being a floorball player than they usually would get in their clubs. Nine floorball coaches are attached to the project, three in each region and in addition there will be sports professionals who will teach about diet and nutrition, physical training and mental training. The talent season finishes with a tournament where the three regional teams meet each other in May.

The project is supported by the Danmarks Idræts Forbund (DIF), and intends to perfect the record high group of young players playing in Danish floorball right now. Besides an inspiring training for the players, youth coaches also have the opportunity to follow the talent gatherings and hereby get new inspiration and ideas for their own training in the clubs.  Through the project the talent players will also receive coach education and it is intended that the young talents will act as ambassadors for floorball.
