Denisa Kottnerová & Timo Schmid MVPs in Austria – 11.06.2013For the first time ever the coaches of the elite clubs elected the “Most Valuable Player” in both the men’s and women’s leagues. Denisa Kottnerová, the Czech goalkeeper of the champion Wikings Zell/See was elected women´s MVP and the runner up was the U19 national team captain Katrin Golob from IBC Leoben. Viktoria Fersterer (Zell/See) got the 3rd most votes. - I was a track and field athlete in Prague and started playing floorball four years ago here in Zell/See. Floorball is a team sport, but this award is really an honour and shows how important a goalkeeper is in this game. But my next goal is private; passing my exam and starting my studies, Denisa Kottnerová says. The national team player and top scorer, Timo Schmid, won the men´s MVP award. The runner up was the Italian national team player Daniel Tonegatti (Zell/See) and the 3rd most votes went to old star Sigi Sendlhofer (Zell/See again). The 22 year old Timo Schmid from VSV Unihockey was happy, being the first MVP in the Austrian floorball championships. - I started floorball in school and with my class we visited a big tournament in Gothenburg. Then in 2004 I started playing for my club in Villach. Winning three titles with Villach, playing in two U19 WFCs together with some other memories, I will treasure for a long time, Timo Schmid comments. Pictures: |
