IFF GoGirls! Ambassador Cornelia Fjellstedt (SWE) – 28.11.2017

Cornelia Fjellstedt just won the Champions Cup title with the reigning Swedish Champions IKSU in the fall. Now the 24-year-old player will be seen in Bratislava with team Sweden. Cornelia has played floorball since she was 6 years old and currently works with communication mostly on websites and through social media.

How does Men’s Floorball and Women’s floorball differ in your country?
The Swedish floorball federation have worked hard with equality over the years. For example, the national teams have the same opportunities when they play when it comes to material, marketing, compensation, and so on. The Swedish league do have a bit left to reach fully equality, especially with salaries and money.

How do you practice floorball?
My club have 3-4 practices a week, strictly floorball. The training are usually 2 hours long. One days, at least, per week we are in the gym for 1-2 hours.

How did you become a national team player?
Many years of practice, a will to push myself and a career with 90% fun and 10% pain and not so glorious times.

How will you prepare for the WFC?
For me I will try to stay healthy. By eating, sleeping and resting I will try to take care of my body as good as I can.
As a team we will study our opponents well, but our main focus will be to develop our match plan and focus extra on how we should play. Details like special teams will be more important the closer we get to the WFC.
