Finland strong against Czech Republic, wins 5-1 – 02.12.2017

One of the most thrilling Saturday’s games took place at Hant arena. The match between the Czech Republic and Finland was the key match for both of the teams. This match should test the strength of both Finland and the Czech Republic. In the first period, it was kind of a balanced game. However, Finland got ahead early with a quick goal scored by Elina Kujala. Czechs tried to get Finland under pressure, but it was really hard for them to get through Finland’s strong defense. Even the biggest star of Czech team Eliska Krupnova could not get to the net, being heavily watched by Finland’s defenders.

Match got even more rough in the second period and also increased its tempo. Both teams had good goal scoring opportunities, but only Finland took the chance and scored another goal, making it 2-0 before the end of the second period. After that, Czech team fastened its game performance but did not manage to score before the final period.

Even in the end of the game, Finland stayed strong, adding three more goals, one of them an empty-netter. Czechs managed to score only once. Eliska Krupnova found an empty space in Finland’s net, but she was the only one from the Czech team to do so. Finally, the final score speaks clearly for Finland, 5-1.
