Estonia happy after win against Australia – 01.12.2017

Friday’s last match belonged to Estonia and Australia and it was definitely a match worth watching. The first goal was scored by Estonia’s Edith Parnik in the third minute of the match. But Australia did not want to let it that easy, scoring two goals (Carolyn Margetts, Blaise Hodges) and turning the score to 2-1. However, Estonia did not stay blind and took back the control of the match. They managed to score four goals and made it 2-5 before the end of the first period.

In the second period, Estonia held Australia under pressure most of the time, making it really hard for Australian offense to break through and score. Even though Australia managed to lessen the score once, most of the time, the ball was possessed by Estonia, which resulted in other goals in Australia’s net. Australia also scored one own goal, making it 3-8 before the last period.

In the third period, it may seem that Australia was given almost no chance when Estonia scored three more goals. However, It was not an easy win for Estonia, Australia fought really hard and did not let Estonia take the win for free. Despite that, Estonia beat Australia 10-4 in their first match at the World Championships.
