Poland takes the win against Germany – 04.12.2017

It was an important game for both of the teams because it should decide about who is going to face Slovakia in the other game. It had no clear favorite before, so it was really hard to say who would be dominant. Poland took over the role of a more dominant team right from the start of the first period. In the second minute, Zuzanna Krzywak opened the score and put Poland in the lead. She was followed by Weronika Noga and Justyna Krzywak, who made it 3-0 for Poland before the end of the first period.

The second period got really balanced with no scored goals. Germany tried to break through and created some nice goal opportunities but had no luck scoring. Poland tried to put Germany under pressure again and score some more goals to confirm the dominant role but did not manage to overcome Germany’s defense as well.

Germany got into problems in the third period when Ina Jensen was given a 2-minute penalty. Poland did not seem to create many chances. Then Germany got into an unsuccessful break, which resulted in fourth Poland’s goal, scored in a powerplay. Germany finally managed to score a goal, but the referees blew the goal off due to a foul.

The final result speaks clearly for Poland, 5-0, which means Germany is going to face Slovakia and Poland will play against Estonia.
