Slovakia challenged Norway.
Both teams played very hard from the beginning, Norway focused on a defensive play but players from this country scored the first goal. Emilie Thorvaldsen was a successful goal-scorer in the 6th minute. The host-country tried to shot from every position but Mali Dahler also with good team work in defense was against it. Despite this fact, Slovakia scored a goal in a power-play thanks to Michaela Sponiarova in the 12th minute. Norwegian forward Hildegun Holm was successful in front of the Slovak goalie and Norway led 2:1 after 16 minutes. Norwegian team won 3:1 after the first period because Charlotta Hjort added another goal.
Slovakia refreshed their game plan and scored the second goal thanks to Michaela Sponiarova. Denisa Ferencikova scored another power-play goal. Norway seemed to lack an inspiration and creativity. Paradoxically, Norwegian players led because Tone Einstulen scored the fourth goal. Paulina Hudakova as Slovak forward responded also by the goal in the 35th minute. Only 34 seconds later, this player scored a lucky goal. She completed a Slovak turnover.
Both teams played carefully, nobody wanted to concede the goal. Slovakia had two-goal lead two minutes before the end of the match. Katarina Klapitova added the sixth goal for Slovakia. Lucia Kosturiakova confirmed Slovak´s victory by the goal into an empty net across the whole pitch. Slovakia won over Norway 7:4.
