The match between Sweden and Switzerland was quite a promising game. We expected a balanced battle for the win, with a lot of goals, shots and exciting moments. Everything changed in the first minute of the match. Sweden surprised Switzerland with two really quick goals and after the first minute, they were leading 2-0. This was definitely a bad moment for Switzerland, as they were not ready for such a bad start. After that, the game finally became balanced with good goal chances on both sides. Unfortunately for Switzerland, Sweden added another goal to 3-0. Not long after, Corin Ruttimann scored the first goal for Switzerland. Michelle Wiki was another Swiss player to score, but it was not enough and Sweden was in the lead 5-2 after the first period.
In the second period, Sweden managed to increase their lead with three more goals, putting Switzerland under big pressure. It seemed that Switzerland was really caught by surprise as they were not able to react adequately. Although they managed to score once, against a team like Sweden, that is never enough.
The third period was more or less controlled by Sweden. They scored seven more goals and their dominance in this match was really obvious. Switzerland stuck to defense for the rest of the match and got lucky only once. Isabelle Gerig cut the score down with her goal, but this could not prevent Switzerland from losing. The final score was clear, Sweden won 12-3.
