The first match for Norway, the second confrontation for Latvia after good game against Czech Republic.
Norway scored the first goal in the 1st minute. Lena Gillberg was alone in front of Lauma Visnevska and she scored. But Latvian players showed good combination and Liga Garklava scored in the 8th minute. 23 seconds later, Norwegian offensive beat the Latvian goalie for the second time. The dramatic match was confirmed by the second goal of Latvia thanks to the teamwork which was finished by Evelina Garbare.
Many shots, attractive passes but no goals. Both teams focused on accurate defensive play. Norway had a lot more ball possession than the Latvian team. But nobody scored another goal of the game in the second period.
This drama escalated in the third period. Despite the chances on both sides, there were only perfect saves by goalies. It was a floorball full of passes and physical battles. Norway and also Latvia wanted to become the winner but there was no person who decided the match. Norwegian player Julie Gidske scored the third goal of the team thanks to a one-timer shot in the 52nd minute. Norway won over Latvia in the dramatic duel 3:2.
