Estonia and Canada continued play-off action in Arena Riga. The Baltic nation used their advantage and defeated the Canadians 16-4 (7-2, 3-0, 6-2).
Estonia can be satisfied with 3rd place in Group A. They showed quite good floorball against top teams and survived in this drama against Germany. The Canadians got two minimal wins against the Asian teams and finished 2nd in Group D. In the begining, Estonia proved that they are the better team. There was only 5 minutes left when the game result became 3-0 for Estonia. The European team dominated on every part of the rink. and they scored four more goals in the first period. Patrik Kareliusson had 1+3 after first 20 minutes. The North American team managed to score two goals in the first, so the period finished 7-2 with Estonia being in front.
The Estonian party returned early in the second period. Andreas Woiduma concluded the perfect teamwork on powerplay. The Estonians demonstrated perfect shot accuracy scoring many incredible goals. They achieved their 10th goal precisely in the middle of the match. The following action seemingly became like a friendly match as both teams started to use it as preparation for their next games. The Baltic team started 3rd period with a powerplay and scoring two more goals. The match ended with the Estonians winning 16-4 and this is the biggest result already at the tournament. Estonia will meet Czech Republic in the quarterfinals this Thursday. The Canadian mission is to outperform Team USA in classification games.
