Day 3 of World Floorball Championships in Arena Rīga started with a Group C match between Slovakia and Australia. Slovakian team continued their tournament with an easy victory 12-2 (4-0, 1-1, 7-1).
Teams started the WFC with different emotions - Slovakia defeated Poland in one of the most interesting matches so far, meanwhile Australia had no chance to win the game against Denmark. As match favorites, the Slovaks started strong with good possesion of the ball. After 8:17 had been played Australia scored their first goal. Slovakia dominated all the time and managed to score three more goals. Martin Joscak scored twice and Michal Dudovic achieved a 1+2 during the first period.
Australians started period number two with two man advantage that helped them to score their first goal. Match continued with both teams creating good scoring chances. Slovakian goalkeeper Rastislav Mazak stopped the Australian come back with his good saves. At 26:44 Lukas Ujhelyi returned the four-goal lead for his team. Slovakia tried to score more goals in the second period, but the Aussie goalkeeper Mitchell George kept Australia safe..
Lubos Sefcik increased the Slovakian´s lead to 6-1 early in the third period. Slovaks outplayed their opponents in the last part of the game. Martin Kubovic and Michal Dudovic scored three more goals. Goal number 10 from Slovakian side came at 55:12 and the end score was 12-2 for Slovakia. This victory means that Denmark and Slovakia will be playing in the play-offs.
