Thailand broke Singapore in the evening match.
Thailand - Singapore game was everything you expected and more, both teams creating scoring chances on each end of the field. Ball was being moved at a really high pace early on. First goal of the game came for Thailand when just a little over 5 minutes had been played. All through the period game remained even, despite Thailand scoring back-to-back goals to put themselves to a 2-0 lead.
Thailand started the second period just as strongly as they did in the first period. An early power play put them to a 3-0 lead and soon they already scored their fourth goal. Due to a knee tackle, a Singaporean player got a match penalty one. Five minute power play wasn´t enough for Thailand to score on but they did manage to make it 5-0 when teams were back on equal strength. The goal difference seemed to have broken Singapore´s confidence as they dramatically dropped their pace, and were losing the match 6-0 after the second period. Notable that Singaporean team didn´t leave the bench to head for the locker room, instead they remained out there by the playing field and had a discussion between players and coaching staff.
Not leaving the rink seemed to be working for Singapore. They scored their first goal after 2:32 had been played of the third period. After that, the game went silent for a longer period of time. At 9:03 Singapore got a chance to decrease the score due to a delayed penalty, but unfortunately they couldn´t score and were also inefficient during their power play, unlike Thailand, who scored their seventh goal on power play later on. Another penalty was seen and this time Singapore managed to score on power play and decreased the score to 8-2, which also was the end result of the match.
