FloorballFantasy launches the first floorball fantasy game based on a World Floorball Championships. The WFC 2016 will act as a test event.
The Men’s WFC 2016 will act as a test event for the FloorballFantasy, where you can choose your own floorball team. One of the reasons to create such a site was to get people more involved:
-We at FloorballFantasy want to get fans more involved in the World Floorball Championships, and get fans to watch and talk, not only about their favourite teams but about all the teams participating in the WFC, and about the sport itself. One way of getting fans to take interest in all teams is to play a fantasy game based on Floorball. Exploring the web, we saw that there was a lack of such games. Therefore, we saw no other choice than to create and provide such a site! says one of the creators of the FloorballFantasy, Jacek Izdebski.
Floorballfantasy.com is based on real results from the Men´s World Floorball Championship 2016 and it’s completely free. You need to register an account to participate and by doing that you will get a virtual team, a budget and for that budget you can buy players from all the participating national teams. Your team consists of 11 spots which include 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders and 6 forwards. If these players perform well during their real games they will be more valuable and cost more in the next round. Each round you will have the possibility to transfer new players, but each transfer will cost you money from your overall budget.
The IFF is excited to see how FloorballFantasy will affect the floorball people:
-IFFs interest to participate in such projects is to enhance the general awareness of the fan and star profiles around the sport and look forward to cooperate with this in the future, if the test probes to be positive, says the IFF Secretary General John Liljelund.
