The 11th Men’s WFC will start next week in Riga, Latvia, with a new record of countries having TV broadcasts from the WFC. The negotiations are in their final stretches and we have close to 15 countries broadcasting the event in one way or the other. A total of 30 matches will be broadcasted.
So far there will be TV broadcasts in China, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. Discussions are still ongoing with Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Taipei and some other European countries. Number of the participating teams will also stream the Event on their own national web-pages.
The WFC will also be visible on the IFF YouTube channel and the IWGA World Games Channel. IFF will next week publish the final TV schedule.
In efforts to increase visibility for the sport, IFF and the Olympic Channel recently announced a cooperation agreement. As part of the agreement, the Olympic Channel will live stream 33 hours of competition from the Men’s World Floorball Championships 2016, including the final match, to a global audience on its digital platform.
The Olympic Channel is a new, ground-breaking digital platform where fans can experience the power of sport and the Olympic Movement all year round is available worldwide via mobile apps for Android and iOS devices and at olympicchannel.com.
