CC interview with Falun´s Rasmus Enström — 29.09.2014

Falun´s national team player, Rasmus Enström,  is expecting tough games against the Swiss teams and the Finnish champion, Happee, at the Champions Cup.

What are your thoughts before the Champions Cup?
- We’re looking forward to coming to Switzerland. And we’ve been focusing on getting the team together these first three matches of the SSL. I think we’ve figured out how we’re gonna play in each line, even though we lost the last game against Pixbo.

What do you think about your group?
- We’re starting against Lekrings and unfortunately I don’t know much about how they’re playing but I guess that’s a match we should win. However, I think it will be a much tougher game against Wiler. We played against them in the Czech Open this year and won 5-1 but it really was a tough match for us. They have a lot of talented players, for example Isac Rosén and Henrik Olofsson.

Which teams are the biggest threats on your way to defending the title?
- I think there are four teams that could win this. Falun, Happee and the two Swiss teams. I’ve already mentioned Wiler but Grasshoppers has a very interesting team too.

How is the status in your squad?
- Unfortunatly, Tero Tiitu won’t be playing due to a delayed transfer. He has exceptional skills and scores a lot so it’s a shame that he can’t join us there of course. Furthermore, it’s not very likely that Johannes Larsson will be ready to play because of his injury. And Thomas Holmgren is still injured as well.

You’ve won the Swedish Championship two years in a row and got back with a gold medal from the last Champions Cup. How do you motivate yourselves this year?
- We actually got a lot of new younger players in the team this year, who don’t have as much gold medals as us older guys. And I am, personally, always motivated for new gold medals. A bit stupid not at least to try when you have the chance!

Rasmus Enström and Falun will play in the Men´s Champions Cup group A. Check the CC schedule from here.
