Classic turned 0-2 to a 3-2 victory — 04.10.2012Dalen got a great start in the game that they had to win to stay in the tournament. But the Finnish champions, SC Classic, came back and defeated Dalen 3-2, which means that Dalen is now out from the Champions Cup.
It took just 20 seconds for Dalen´s Katarina Bjur to score the first goal of the game. And when Sandra Larsson scored 2-0, the players in SC Classic seemed a bit lost. This remained the score until the first intermission. Classic came back from the locker room as a different team. First Nina Rantala scored 1-0 and then Eliisa Alanko scored twice. The Finnish team had great chances to score even more, but they missed two penalty shots in the second period. The third period became a furious hunt by Dalen. They had 23 shots on goal compared to Classic who only had 4. But the Swedes didn´t manage to score, much due to the Finnish goalie Kreeta Lakkala.
- We got a great start and everything felt safe. Even when they made 3-2 it still felt as we had the game in our hands, says Linn Lundström, team captain in Dalen. - In the third period we created a lot of chances and I think we deserved to win.
