PLAN OF ACTION FOR 2002-2004

 

1. General
The International Floorball Federation (IFF) is the international organization for floorball.

IFF consists of totally 29 member Associations.

During 2002-2004, the number of member Associations is expected to increase from the present 29, to at least 35. Efforts will mainly be concentrated to strengthen the newer members.

The popularity of floorball will continue to grow in the world and new members are expected not only from Europe but also from Asia and Africa.

The overall aim for IFF is to gain membership of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

During the period 2002-2004 the aim is to gain ordinary membership of General Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF).

2. Administration
The IFF office has since the Congress 1996 been located in Solna, Sweden, partly financed by the Swedish Floorball Federation.

Since January 1, 2000 the IFF is financially self-financed.

If the financial situation permits the administration will be strengthened during the period between the Congresses 2002 and 2004.

The aim is to have two full time employees from July 1, 2002.

3. Central Board
The Central Board of the IFF will improve its efficiency by allocating specific areas of responsibility to the Committees to create more time for development of finances and administration.

The Central Board will have four meetings per year.

4. The Committees
More responsibilities will be allocated to the Committees.

Guide-lines for the Committee work will be further developed and when the finances of IFF increases more funds will be allocated to the Committees for their work in developing floorball.

5. Competitions
World Championships will be played 2003 for Women in Switzerland, 2004 for Men in Switzerland and 2005 for Women in Singapore.

When appointing organizers of the IFF competitions the aim is to follow the schedule on how to appoint organizers, meaning that a first letter asking for organizers will be sent 72 months prior (six years) to the competition and the appointment will be done 48 months (four years) prior to the competition.

Preparations for the Men's U19 World Championships 2003 (rights to organize granted to the Czech Floorball Union), and 2005 (not yet decided) is in good progress. The first Women's U19 World Championships 2004 and the next 2006, the Men's World Championships 2006 and 2008 and the Women’s World Championships 2007 will be decided and implemented during the period 2002-2004.

The European Cup is played every year for both Men and Women. Since 1999 the Final Round of the EC consists of 8 teams in each category, meaning that Qualification Rounds are played when needed.

During the period 2002-2004 organizers for the European Cup 2004-2006 will be appointed, and the Rules- and Competition Committee will continue the efforts to develop the IFF Club Competitions.

The IFF has already granted the Czech Floorball Union the rights to organize the finals January 2003, and the Swiss Floorball Association the rights to organize the finals January 2005. Still to be decided whom to appoint to organize 2004.

Efforts will be made for floorball to be part of multi-sport competitions such as World Games and the South-East Asian Games. Further the IFF will actively continue to support efforts to make floorball an ordinary part of the University Sports family.

6. The Rules of the Game
The work with Edition 2006 (valid from July 1, 2006) of the Rules of the Game will start in the end of the period 2002-2004.

7. Material Regulations
During the period between the Congresses 2002 and 2004 a continued follow-up of the Material Regulations will be carried out.

8. Information services
The development of the IFF web-site, www.floorball.org, will continue.

The minutes from the CB meetings will be sent to the member Associations and published on the web-site as they have been finalized.

Mainly information’s will be distributed via e-mail instead of ordinary mail.

More promotion material, such as video’s, DVD’s and brochures will be produced.

9. Economy
The income from sponsoring and advertisements will have to continue to increase the coming years and therefore more efforts will be done by the Marketing and Information Committee.

The Budgets and Financial Reports will be published in the IFF web-site.
