Champions Cup history

Champions Cup is a tournament for national champions organised by the International Floorball Federation (IFF) for elite European clubs. The tournament underwent significant changes in 2011 and this year’s tournament is the 2nd tournament played with the new format.

The Champions Cup structure follows the EuroFloorball Cup (EFC), formerly known as European Cup. Six men´s teams and six women’s teams (12 teams in total) participate in the event. The lower ranked European teams play the EuroFloorball Cup, with the 2012 Final round taking place 10th - 14th of October in Slovakia (preliminary dates).

The first edition of the Champions Cup was played in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic in October 2011. The Champions Cup results and statistics are found here.

After the 2000 World Championship, the tournament changed its format to a biennial event, but returned to the annual format in 2008.
